    A Decent Pan For Pulling Multiple Duty

    This is an interesting pan in that I have never used a ceramic pan before. I have many ceramic coated pans such as Green Pan, Le Creuset etc. but nothing totally ceramic (except the thin aluminum bottom which is nice as it allows for induction cooking) but definitely an advantage from a weight perspective, it is incredibly light.

    The shape is nice for a do it all type of pan which does allow you to cook many ways but I think the hype about 10 ways of cooking is a bit overblown as this is really no different that something like a Lodge chicken frying pan with a bit more slope on the sides. That being said the pan would serve as a very deep skillet, sauce pan and small dutch oven very easily.

    The pan is very non-stick when new and cleaned up in a flash, so that is really nice. Longevity of the performance has yet to be seen of course but first cooks had great performance. I am not sure how helpful the spatula holder is but I guess holding the spatula while the lid is on might be preferred by some. The downside is that this shape does allow more moisture to escape when simmering or braising in the oven.

    I was also slightly surprised that the heat distribution around the bottom was not as uniform as I would have thought but I did have some hotter spots when cooking bacon-nothing that was a deal breaker but I did have to move the bacon around a bit for even cooking.

    All in all a unique and, for under $100, probably a good starter pan (we picked it up for our daugher’s apartment) that means you don’t have to have multiple pans. If cost isn’t your main concern then a few separate pans would do the job better I think. Does that imply I would not recommend this pan, not at all, I do think it works fine for casual cooking. I don’t think it is some “wonder pan” but it is still worth consideration if you are looking for this type of cookware.

    The Zuka frying is a well built, strong non stick pan. The non-stick surface performs well, allowing for effortless food release and easy cleanup. The pan itself is great and works perfect for cooking different types of food. The grey spatula has a few issues, especially for those who frequently cook with turmeric which is common in Indian cuisine. The spatula gets yellow stains. If you choose another color this won't be a problem. A unique feature is the integrated spatula storage on the pan's rim. This is a very helpful design element, keeping the spatula readily accessible. Unfortunately the spatula heats up when stored on the pan during cooking making it uncomfortable to handle.
    Another point of concern is the lid handle. The side handles are heat resistant but the lid top handle tends to become excessively hot during cooking, requiring the use of oven mitts or a cloth to safely remove the lid. Pan is very strong and well built. I have not used the deep frying feature but that's another feature that is available.
    Pros:
    * Good, even heating across the pan's surface.
    * Effective non-stick coating that releases food easily.
    * Convenient spatula storage on the pan's rim.
    Cons:
    * Turmeric and other spice stains are easily visible on the spatula.
    * Spatula heats up when stored on the pan during cooking.
    * Lid handle becomes very hot, requiring protective gear.

    Nice, but some questionable decisions on the part of the maker

    This pan is much lighter than expected. I almost winged it across the room by accident when I removed it from the box. It comes with a lot of extras, which I'm sure will someday be useful. But for now:

    They list the basked as a "frying basket" but….how? When wedged into the slot on the side, it doesn't even come close to where an oil level would be? I chose to rename it a "steamer basket," which makes more sense, since you don't want your food touching the boiling water beneath. That makes it useful to me, since I don't deep fry anything.

    It is baffling how they did such a good job making this pan and utensils, even including silicone handle covers, yet they neglected to make the pot lid handle out of a non-heat conducting material. No one wants to be burnt while pulling off a lid. I removed a star for that, because even my less expensive pans address that issue.

    The spatula is indeed so long that it barely fits in my drawer. I personally would never lay it across simmering food.
    Hot microplastics….no.

    So far, the non-stick coating works like a charm, but we all do know that it doesn't last forever. The fact that I can't use non-stick spray on it might end up an issue when the non-stick coating wears away.

    I will say that the size of the pan is useful for stews, and curry, and other heavily-liquified dishes, for there is little risk of sloppage over the edge. It is beautiful, and doesn't need to be hidden like my other worn-out (but loved) pans.

The sides are high enough to use as a saucepan, but they aren't so high that they can't be used as a frying pan, and it makes a great fry pan.So far, I haven't had any issues with sticking. However, it is also too early to tell how long it will stay stick-free. I love that it has a pour spout.

    This pan comes with nice accessories. The wire insert makes it easy to fry food. The spatula is nice, though a bit too long. The trivet is nice for holding a spoon while cooking.I used the basket for steaming vegetables, and I like that the pan has a vent for steaming. The cool touch handle stays cool enough to grab without a hot pad.
