Review: I used this air fryer to do steak bites, and the results were great — juicy, done and a big hit with the fam. Vacuum-sealed the rest so that my son has an easy re-heat snack packed with protein vs. chips or something else lazy and not as healthy.That’s the good. That and saying that it’s good size and operates easily (and easy to clean). However, this product is falsely advertised, both in the picture and in the bullet text about functionality… here is the bullet statement:”Slim 2 Qt Capacity: Features two precision dials for adjusting cooking time and temperature, a slim air fryer with compact design that fits easily on your countertop.”There is 1 dial and it is a timer. There is no way to adjust the temperature. It always runs at 400 degrees. Even the instruction book indicates its “recipes” with everything cooking at 400 degrees. One of the advertising pics here on Amazon also says that retro dial allows you to adjust time and temperature at any point … just false.Given the cost (~$60), the fact that all you can do is set a timer and only 1 heat is achieved after falsely claiming the dial also allows for different temperature settings, I can’t give this product anything more than 3 stars. I do like the look, the capacity and the results for the one thing I’ve tried in it; however, I am concerned about long-term utility if I can’t use different temperatures.

Review: Clever kitchen gadget for quick cooking. A few observations: 1) “Air frying” is a made-up term made to suggest that everything cooked in this machine is healthy as the food would not be deep-fat fried. 2) In reality, this is basically a small table-top broiler — like your oven has — but with a fan/convection component, smaller and with less wattage. 3) There is no temperature control — exactly like the broiler in your oven. (One is not needed.) It cycles on and off to maintain what is reported to be 400 degrees. 4) Design and concept is super simple: when the timer dial is rotated to the desired number of minutes, the heating element turns on and the fan above the heating coil blows the hot air downward onto the food in the pull-out tray. There is an exhaust grille in the back that has hot air blowing out which is why it is to be pulled away from back walls and anything else you don’t want to heat with hot air (like a box of chocolates). 5) There is a round metal tray with holes in it (slightly different than shown in the Amazon product description photos) that your food can be placed on and hot air can blow through. It sits about an inch above the bottom of the cooking pan.Further observations: 6) This is super non-stick. As in anything spilled or cooked onto the bottom tray of pull-out “basket” is not going to stick. Washes very quickly with a sponge. 7) The “2- quart” reference is not descriptive except to show relative size to larger ones. A better description of size is the following: The pull-out food holder/pan (or “basket”) measures 6 1/4″ in diameter and 3 3/8″ deep. As my photo shows, that is the diameter of about 1 1/2 English muffins. Not sure why the listing page does not show that dimension. The size may be adequate for one or two people only. 8) when holding on to the handle and pulling the food holder out of the machine, you do not have to hold the machine in place with the other hand as it clicks out without the machine being pulled due to the no-slide feet on the bottom of the machine. When pushing the food holder/pan in the machine, it “clicks” in place when in all the way. 9) My suggestion is to set the timer for just a few minutes to ensure nothing overcooks. The heating element turns off when the basket is pulled out (though the timer continues to run) and it turns back on when the basket is pushed in place (if the timer and still running and the blue indicator light is illuminated). 10) For food that cooks for longer periods of time (according to the instructions), the food is to be turned halfway through.I look forward to testing it on more food items and will update this review then. It is basically a table-top convection oven with a broiler-like heating element inside at the top. It is not a fryer of any sort. Nice design, quality, and single timer/turn on control. Lifetime warranty. The advertised “Full-color cookbook” was not included. Disappointing that the cookbook is advertised as part of the purchased but they failed to actually deliver it.

Review: If my review were on appearance alone, this unit gets five stars. It’s a very attractive air fryer and looks nice on the counter top. However, it is very bare bones basic.For starters, it is extremely small. I don’t feel like that’s worth deducting anything from the overall rating because the 2 qt size is clearly noted in the description and I think anyone getting a model like this expects it to be as such. My second photo shows just how small though. This works fine for a single person most of the time, but I’ve found even some single serving items like salmon or frozen taquitos are too long to fit in the basket.What’s most frustrating is the lack of some basic settings. There is no temperature control at all. It heats to 400 degrees or nothing, so if a recipe calls for 350 or 375, you have to guess at adjusting your time. There’s also no preheat option so you again guess at adding extra time or run it for a few minutes empty before you put your food in. Overall, it works fine, just lacks some basic desirable bells and whistles for the price.
